judges from 7 judges and 20 points to earn a state award. This was changed
from 10 judges. The club voted and approved this unanimously. Our club will
vote to the CCC to change the rule.
The CCC awards banquet was very nice. Thanks to Libby for helping to
organize it and make it a special evening for all.

in Directory and on other club's mailing lists for shows. If it isn't
on our list, it isn't on theirs. Send corrections or additions to
Denise Escover. You must be a paid member to appear on this list and
be listed in the directory.

New Business:

The show premiums have been mailed and are up on the club website for easy
access. The futurity classes are listed incorrectly in the premiums that
were mailed out. They should say:

We will need lots of help for this show. Please plan on attending and
showing your club support. A envelop stuffing party will be held soon,

Debi Kent would like to let the club know that anyone is welcome to
participate in helping with the open shows. The program is open to having
anyone help and would like to offer the invitation to new members to come
and join us at our shows to see what we are about. Please contact Debi
Kent if you want more details on the open program or the shows.
Other votes:
Debi Kent suggested we pay Melissa Berschens to maintain the club website.
Her work has gone above and beyond the call of duty of secretary. The club
voted to pay her for web site maintenance fee of $150 per year to maintain
the club website on a monthly basis. This was approved. Melissa will
submit a bill to the club for her services.
Thank you letters:
A card was received from Dana Klamecki to say thank you for the flowers
that the club had sent. Diane Lang wishes to
thank the card for all their cards and good wishes. "They were so
greatly appreciated and the flowers were so beautiful that I couldn't help
but realize how lucky I was to have good friends in my life. As always
their friendships are very important to me and I want to thank them for
all their kindness."

forms. Libby offered her assistance.
Zone - Vince was unable to attend the last meeting. The next meeting
will be in about a month. A contract has been signed for July 30 -
Aug. 4 with Reno Livestock's Events Center.
Points Keeper - Joe Maniaci mentioned a 13 & under showmanship dispute
re: a reserve YEA placing. APHA doesnıt have the Tulare show
results and CCC had counted that show which caused the third place
exhibitor to question the CCC tabulation, which shows the CCC count is
indeed correct. Joe has been working with only a verbal contract.
George will send a written contract (which Ed still has on his
computer).
Specialty classes --George reported that the majority of the clubs voted
to approve them for state points per a phone/email vote by the reps to
him. The 6 judge limit rule for CCC still applies. Fred advised that
Super Sweepstakes may be incorporated into the specialty awards program.
Watch APHA announcements in the near future. Libby mentioned that a
NSBA program is available to Paint shows and they will provide awards.
Clubs should cntact NSBA if they are interested.
Old Business:
Sandee reminded the reps that Internet Marketplace still offers a CCC web
presence featuring ad space for stallions, ranches and products. CCC
receives a 10% commission for each ad. Clubs are asked to encourage
their members to advertise on the site. This is an easy way to
generate income for CCC awards. Contact Sandee for more information.
Next meeting will be March 23 in San Diego. Cindy Weight-Carter will
schedule a meeting location. Meeting begins at 11 AM.
2003 Year End Awards banquet will be held in the south. Committee
will include Barbara Brown, Janet Radford, Libby Flores, and Sharon
Grossman. Possible date: Jan. 17 & 18, 2003.
George stated that we need to clarify the 10/20 rule for year end awards.
As it stands, it is possible for an exhibitor to show under 10
judges and only place under 5 and still accumulate 20 points. Currently
we can not track horses that show but do not place without reviewing each
showıs results individually. This would entail many hours of work
for the points keeper. Discussion followed. We are
trying to encourage show participation. Clarification needed on the
written rule. New rule for 2003: Exhibitor must earn points under 7
judges and earn a minimum of 20 points to earn a state award. Motion to
approve by Vince, second by Libby. Motion carried. Reps are
requested to go back to their respective clubs for approval and report at
our March meeting.
Discussion re: memorial trophies. We need to modernize/update these
trophies due to age and style. We give a plaque to the recipients
when they return the trophies and CCC has been paying for them.
Janet will draft a criteria/cost analysis for review at our
next meeting-- for updating or replacing awards. Retirement may be
an option for some awards depending on the sponsorıs wishes.
Zone Reps.: Two positions are open (Sharon Bates was a one year and
Cindy Weight-Carterıs resignation was effective Dec. 31. Motion by
Libby and second by Vince to nominate George Maxwell and Bob Lentz. Motion
carried. Discussion on Zone meetings - in the past some meetings
have been rescheduled at the last minute after our reps had secured
airline tickets (this presents a financial hardship when trying to get
refunds)
Motion by Bob Wagg, second by Denise Thomas to adjourn. Motion
carried. Adjournment at 12:10 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Sandee Proctor, Secretary
