Secretaries
Report:
APHA
had changes to our Bi-laws. Changes were to our clubs election
rules. The forms were signed by Officers and to be returned to
APHA.
Melissa
passed out requirements to apply for The Gold Star Club.
Applications must be submitted no later than April 15th.
If the Club votes to submit an application it is recommended
that a committee be organized to put the paperwork together.

Region 6:

Carraher was unavailable to report on Region 6.

Report:
Steve
Guerriero wanted to thank Libby Flores for all the hard work
she does for the club. He openly apologizes for any
misunderstanding in last month’s minutes. This was not meant
to criticize anyone.
Open
Show Report:
The
first of two shows was held on June 1st 2003. It
was reported to be a successful show. There were approximately
96 horses entered with a profit of $2,042.53. The show ran
only until 2:50 p.m. the show was held in two arenas this
helped speed things up. A BIG
Thank You goes out to the Linden and Lentfield families for
their help in going to Costco to get hot dogs for lunch to
cover for the catering truck being unable to service the show.
The next show date is July 20, 2003. All help is greatly
appreciated. Remember to check your work hours.
Youth
Report:
Ashley
Guerriero reported that the youth club won the “ From The
Heart Award”, for the second year in a row. They will be
receiving the award at the World Show June 25th at
6:00PM. Ashley was elected AjPHA “Youth Member of the
Year” for the year 2003-2004. Both Ashley and Christina
McGurran attended the horse Expo in Sacramento last month
representing the AjPHA. They gave talks and answered
questions. Pictures of Expo to follow.

Business:
APHA
held a workshop on the subject of age split classes. This
pertains to the three pattern classes. The amateur committee
agreed that the age split would be a good idea. At the
National Convention the board will have three choices
regarding the age split:
1.
Split all classes age 19-44 & 45 and over.
2.
Split all classes age 19-39 and 40 and over.
3.
Defeat both and leave the rule as it stands.
